Old Town Rd
Block Island, RI 02807

“The Block Island Historical society should be on every visitors list.
This little museum has so much information on island history. From the Indians who originally inhabited the island to a full geneology of the white settlers. There are lots of photos and postcards and articles from the 1800’s when the island had it’s first tourist boom and so many of the hotels were built.
There is information on shipwrecks and the sword fishing fleet, hurricanes and the history of farming.
They also have a little gift shop that is worth a visit.
The entrance fee is very low and supports the ongoing restoration of both the building and the collection.”
